Guidelines for Dr S. S. Chahal Best Master's Thesis Award
(Last Date to apply is 20th October, 2023)
Eligibility Criterion
- Applicant should have completed his/her Master's degree in discipline of Plant Pathology from any Indian University with a minimum OCPA of 7.5/10.00 (= 75% marks) or equivalent during 1st October, 2022 to till last date of application i.e. 20th October, 2023.
- The research work should be original and must have a direct bearing on some relevant aspects of plant pathology discipline.
- The award consists of a certificate, memento which will be awarded after presentation in the Annual meeting and Symposium of INSOPP on 8-9thDecember, 2023 at BHU, Varanasi. Fifty per cent weight age will be given to academics, 25.0 per cent to the quality, originality and practical applicability of research work and 25.0 per cent to the presentation and discussion during the award contest.
- The application for the award should be routed through the Head of the department and application should reach up to 20thOctober, 2023 to the Secretary, Indian Society of Plant Pathologists on email id: [email protected]
- The applicant and the Major Advisor should be the annual/life member of the society. Application form for membership can be downloaded from the website of Society www.insopp.org.in
- Shortlisted candidates will be bound to publish at least one paper out of the thesis in Plant Disease Research journal which should be submitted before the contest.
- The applicant should have not got any award for the same thesis.
- The award competition will be held during the conference with a quorum of at least three participants, otherwise it will be cancelled.
- In case of multiple applications, the preliminary screening will be done at the Head quarter of INSOPP and shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their work at the INSOPP symposium.
- The decision of the award committee will be final.
- In case of any dispute, the decision of the EC shall be final.
Application Procedure
- The application for the award should be routed through the Head of the department and should reach up to 20th October, 2023 to the Secretary, Indian Society of Plant Pathologists, at Email: [email protected]
- Application should be submitted on the prescribed Performa, along with soft copy of the thesis and attested and scanned copy of the Master's degree or provisional Degree Certificate (PDC). The application must include a copy of the thesis evaluation report.
- Candidate will give a signed undertaking that he/she has not been awarded earlier for the same Master's research work.
- In case a candidate applies simultaneously for two awards for the same research work, then he/she has to inform the Secretary, INSOPP before the contest. If he/she gets then he/she has to withdraw the second award application.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for PowerPoint presentation of at least 15 minutes before the panel of three judges in the INSOPP symposium going to be held on 8-9th December, 2023 at BHU, Varanasi in the technical session.
